How much do any of you pay for a drivers badge, we pay £72 per year, and all for 1 bit of a4 paper and a ten bob photo holder, then there is £4.00 on top for the mug shot, are we being done, we think that the badge should last for 3 years for that price, what do you think
Then there is the operators licence at £486 for 3 years 162 per year this covers several things £18 paid to the garage for the car test £144.00 for the a4 sheet of paper photo copying of drivers licence and inshurance doc police check and taxi inspectors wages,This has to be paid for every single car you want to put on, we do have a disclosier Scotland form that the council payed for £13 but this must be done every year dont ask I havent a scooby, Plates are £25 deposit and you can keep them as long as you like, If you change your car at any time during the year you only have to pay £70 for exactaly the same thing, ( now what did I do with that £92)

Yes you are being done.

Why not ask for a break-down of the costs of your badge under the Freedom of Information Act.

Your council can only cover their costs of producing your badge. So it will be interesting to see how they can charge £72 for 10 minutes admin, and a small piece of plastic.

1. Testing of the vehicle in our case £35 of the £240 charged goes to the garage the rest goes to the Council.

2. Admin

3. Enforcement

4. The purchase of the badges I.E MOGO badges and plates.

5. Funding for the late night buses.
