Many owners buy vehicles on finance then get a driver in and then charge a rental from that driver.
Most owners charge more than the actual weekly/monthly finance charge and is therefor illegal
Just read about it on page 42 of this months professional driver
So if any of you out there are paying EG around £100 or more per week, and the vehicle only costs the owner £60 they are committing fraud

Mr Skippy, do you not think the fact that this ground breaking article managed to find it's way to page 42 indicates it might not carry the weight you are putting on it? :?

Mr Skippy41!!!

I really do think you missed your vocation in life!!!

You would have earned millions as a script writer for Walt Disney!!!

It is perfectly OK; unless the finance is e.g. HP & / or when the lender in the agreement forbids this subletting...But the hirer is not doing anything wrong...

Hey what about a buy to let mortgage?

how come the owner doesnt need "self drive hire" insurance?

cant see how any markup can be illegal, its called a "profit" in my book

anyway, the rental usually includes base rent or plating+whatever so isnt directly related to the cost of the vehicle
