We get the full year here.
Our age limit is 10 years. I have a car that was plated on January 26th this year and it was 10 years old on January 29th.
We can put a car on the road up until it is 6 years old so how much do you want for it come January?

If they dont let you run it for the full year like they are meant to appeal to a magistrates
Why plate a vehicle when you knew it was due to come off???????

Without looking it up, I think the legislation only allows for a 1 year vehicle licence.

They have issued a five month vehicle licence. I'm pretty sure you could appeal to the Magistrates' Court - successfully.

Up to a year.

But they must have a rule that says their rules only apply in most cases, not all. i.e. not fettering their discretion.

But saying the motor will not be 'fit and proper' on 1st Feb 2012, then maybe they are fettering.
