Ahhhh this old chestnut rears it's head again. I've heard stories of firms selling cars to drivers who then rent / buy them at an inflated rate to the drivers who have bought them.

I don't think there's any any paperwork signed to say how much they are paying in the long run.

Whatever deal it is, it wont be weighted in the drivers favour. It also wont be a credit deal that meets the criteria of the Sales of Goods Act, and I doubt the seller is a licensed credit broker.

If a deal is to be done then make sure the renter/buyer's name is on the vehicle proprietor's license.

This one can get messy, I saw a driver get cancer halfway through a cab buy and was unable to work, died a few years ago, ex-owner came and took it back asap, another rented a plate and then claimed it, it went his way on a technicality which I'm not prepared to post up here.

Only one way to do it, cash buy, cash sell, an owner who sells weekly is a mug anyway, he doesn't get much more than the pay in would be and after the time is over he owns nothing.
