Black cab drivers have been told to stop choking the good folk of London, by fitting some sort of emission reducer. Nothing wrong with that, us LPH good folk have such modern things as cats.
However following a lot of arguments, the PCO let them charge the public 20p a trip, to stop them poisoning the city. This charge was due to coincide with the ending of the poisoning, so the 20p fee paid for the smoke screen. But now the PCO have caved into the black cab boys and allowed them another year's worth of smog. And allowed them to still charge the 20p fee. Both the PCO and the black cabs boys should be ashamed. Perhaps the PCO should only allow clean cars in the bus lanes.

Systems will still have to be fitted and in place by 2008, the 20p extra will still last 3 years as planned, which incidentaly will come no where near the cost of a £2000 - £3500 approved system. Perhaps you could all claim a 20p surcharge on every job, then pay it back to help the Immigration service, Dhss, and the vehicle inspectorate fund all the work Minicabs cause them? As for choking London, there are 20,000 licensed taxis, and approx 35,000 minicabs, so who causes the most? Who until July this year can run any old Datsun Cherry they like as a minicab? 'The PCO caved in', I take it by that comment your jealousy at the power of our trade organisations is evident, as I said, we make the PCO listen when injustice is prevelant, tell me ollie, who represents you? Don't see many minicab reps on the street / tv / radio, or are you still a disorganised rabble? Minicabs in Bus Lanes I'll put a little bet on with you, £100 says that you will never be allowed in Bus Lanes.
'Black cabs' ? we are 'Licensed Taxi's', I think we all know who the 'Black cabs' are???? Have a prosperous Friday Mr Ollasawa, I will! £££££££££££££££££££

![]() Someone I know GBC works near Taplow, which I believe isn't that far from Heathrow. I don't know how much you would charge, but they use an exec PH firm and they charge over a ton.

I know Taplow, its near Marlow in Bucks, nice part of the world, its 20 miles from the Airport, so with a clear run on rate 1 (6am - 8pm) it would be about £47 on the meter. Sadly some of the blokes that work the airport, because the journey goes outside of the Met Police District, quote over the top, but even we have the scallywags in our midst! |

I think a bit of profiteering is going on.
