Hi i wonder if any of you can help me we for some reason are not allowed to advertise on public hire cars in fife. I was wondering if anybody had any insight into this is there a legal reason for it as other local councils can dundee perth ect. Can any one help with me looking to challenge the council on this?

Have you asked the council why?

Provided they have some sort of control over exactly what is being advertised I fail to see why they wouldn't allow it.

No but the only taxis you can advertsie on are one with in built roof signs and your only allowed the company name and phone number on door. Im sure i seen some info about a meeting they had on the fifedirect site ill have a look about. It just seems a silly rule to me as you could raise quite a decent revenue on advertising.

You could be right.

I suggest you write to the Head of Licensing and put in a formal request.

Once they reply you will know where they stand, and we will be better informed as to what we should advise you to do.

Nonsense, some people in the trade are more interested in running well-presented cars rather than splattering them with advertising, so not everyone would gain from it by any means.

Look around any council area that allows advertising and ask yourself how many taxis actually have it?

As usual it would be those running the decent motors who'd be getting shafted.

Most of our taxis have advertising and most of them are decent motors. The problem arises when you try to get the advertising off

Well perhaps they were decent motors before the advertising, Toots :doubt:

State to the Council that the revenue will help all the drivers and that a certain size should be accepted on the back doors or the rear quarter panel.
