I think what they are doing is f***ing disgusting, and they are merely concerned about raking in more and more money, and not concerned about anything else. They should have a tick box on their application forms asking if the licensed vehicle will be predominately working within it's licensing area, and if not then not issue a license. |

The officer is realy trying to change things but the members are not having it. Then the officer should show the councillors the Berwick case and the judges advice to councils. CC |

charles007 wrote: The officer is realy trying to change things but the members are not having it. I'm not going to say 'councillors know best'. Has the officer had professional legal advice/opinion? How will officers ensure that the vehicles they license will keep to the licensing by-laws/conditions if they never see them? Or maybe this is a case of let's wait until the Law Commission publish their consultation document. |

It sounds like councils are starting to compete with one another to supply licensing services but if it is legal then only a change in the law will stop it |
