hi all, new guy here who doesnt know too much in regards to private hire licensing but is hoping to gain a license to earn some income. Basically i've seen an advert from a private hire firm asking for drivers with a badge from 2 authorities, and if you havent got a badge they will pay for your badge but from an authority next to the one they are situated in. I thought that the firm, car and driver had to be registered with the same authority? If so, how are they trying to get around this? |

No it wasn't mate, i debt want to say too much about the area incase it jeopardizes any opportunities for work. I can see why they will pay for badges from the county next door - no knowledge test, cost is around £40 cheaper than the one in which they are based. I just didnt think it was something the authorities would let happen or not prosecute for |

Your vehicle and driver's license must be issued by the same council, and if you drive a PH you must have an operator's license as well, or work with an operator, licensed in the same area. |
