A friend of mine who is licensed through VOSA was sent one of these letters and received a visit. They spent a couple of hours going through the paperwork and then asked him to present his limousine to the VOSA testing centre. The limo was there for 3 hours undergoing tests and measurments before the cleared the limo and the company to continue trading. My mate mentioned to them about another company in Leicester who were not licensed through eithe the council of VOSA and they said that they were not interested.

I suspect in time everyone will get a visit, or better still leave the hire and reward business.

Yes, it's only taken them ten years or so?

And at the rate that they are going, it will probably take another 10 years or so.

A pal of mine runs a couple of old Routemaster buses for weddings and the like, legit PSV operator, and was dropping off at a prom.

Car park ape says "you'll have a job turning that round in here". so he sat watching the stretch limos doing a 74 point turn to get round. He promptly reversed his Routemaster into a gap, drove forward and out in one!

Did I exaggerate somewhere?? OK, maybe a 6 point turn compared to a 2 point turn for the Routemaster bus.

Apparently VOSA have a turning circle for stretch limos on Victoria Embankment; if they can't turn there, they get an immediate prohibition! (source:RouteOne)

I think you find he is picking on the "Even" numbers quoted - it has to be an "Odd" number or you trundle off in the wrong direction, ie the direction you started in.

The first manouver would have been when he stopped just passed the drive.
Anyway in your first post it was in a car park.

Dunno, wasn't there at the time. Car park/drive/who cares, the point is, the stretch limo took far more turns than the Routemaster to face the other way! :D

Pedant.
