please can someone tell me if you can carry pushchairs with the child seated in them. In a purpose built hackney my council say its not legal |

C&U regs require a child to be restrained in a fixed seat, a pushchair isn't a fixed seat. |

Yes you can just like a wheelchair person, just back the pushchair up to the bulkhead and put the belt around it, its much safer for the kid as they should be strapped in the pushchair or buggy, and they have been safety crash tested |

I'm confused as to why a mother/father can't take their little ones out of the pushchair, other than them being lazy f***ers. Do as your council says, and blame them should punters get the hump, and remember who will get the blame should the little ones be injured in an accident. |

You could also tell your council that if you cannot carry a child in the pram you will also not carry a wheelchair passenger |

What anyone thinks is unimportant. What the law says is what counts. BTW, the wheelchair restraints are not designed for a pram or baby buggy. |

most of todays pushchairs have a built in carseat which unclips and can be strapped in the car the golden rule is "would i carry MY child like that".......... |

Its not allowed on our area, but its goes on all the time. It was outlawed 2 Christmases ago by our LA, because salon taxis were complaining that E7s and other large taxis were jumping the queue because everyone wanted to use them because of prams. |

There is abserlutaly no pecking order from any rank in the UK, its customers prerogative to take any cab they wish, even though most ranks work on first off the rank |

Prams can be taken on Buses with child(en) still loaded in them, no restraints or anything else, but of course thats allowed..... anything to do with big business? |
