can a la revoke a licence if the driver has a medical exemption for lifting heavy things etc. eg after surgery you are fit to drive but not lift for a few months. If the driver drives a cab with wheelchair conditions

So if a driver who drives a wav gets exemption for lifting would be able to carry on working but refuse heavy wc while exemption is in place

Yes, he could refuse a heavy wheelchair / object, but only after appraising it and deciding it is too heavy. Also, he can't refuse a wheelchair if they have a carer with them who is willing to load/unload the wheelchair.

I would suggest he arm himself with proof of his medical condition to avoid misunderstanding.

I have undergone abdominal surgery recently and advise passengers of my disability. Everyone has accepted the situation without any problem, so far. If it becomes a problem I shall call for another car or refer them to the next car on the rank.

Interesting

To refuse to push a wheelchair cant be an infringement so long as the vehicle/ramps/straps are available

ive seen some right big loads in wheelchairs, a good walk wouldnt do em any harm...
