Do any H&R policies have protected NCB? After this year I cant see me risking it again, I may even get a job! |

I think it easier to say the ones that don't. KGM don't and I don't think Collingwood do. The best is LV. Their NCB protection is actually a guarantee. Tradex/Westminster and Sabre will allow protection at any level of NCB where most others say 4+ years before protection is an option. You can usually make 2 claims in a 5 year period without your NCB being affected. LV has no limit. As with a lot of things, there is always a but! Even though you have protected NCB, you premium may still be increased due to a claims history loading. This does p**s people off until it is explained that the claims history load would still apply if you didn't have NCB protection, in otherwords the increase can be hugely more, loss of ncb and load. For me, protected NCB is a no brainer. It normally costs 10 to 15% extra. Don't forget, its a no claim bonus not a no blame bonus. If you don't have NCB protection and are victim of a hit and run or an animal jumping on your car (deer etc) you are stuffed. |

Quote: Im with LV, it wasnt offered Might be worth having a moan. I would argue the broker hasn't discharged their professional duty to give best advice. They do only offer with 4 or 5 years NCB and I think you have to be fault claim free for 12 months before adding this. Might be worth a chat with broker? I would say if you were eligible and the broker ought to know that, they haven't done a good job. If they say "you didn't ask for it" seriously think about finding a new broker even if staying with LV. |

If 3 years last time and 4 next renewal you should be able to find something. As I say, LV may well also Tradex and Sabre. |
