The link shows the back of my HC vehicle licence. Is this total bunkum??? If so, what, if anything, needs to be done about it???

Any of it. They use the word 'conditions' frequently and refer to LGMPA primarily with scant reference to TPCA. I thought HC 'conditions' were unenforceable and had to be bye-laws???

Dunno, Shepway seem to use a lot of conditions. FoI the council and ask them if they adopted the LGMA 1976! If not, what they're saying is unenforceable.

Hackney carriage proprietors licenses are governed by conditions - section 47 LG(MP) Act 1976.

47 Licensing of hackney carriages

(1)A district council may attach to the grant of a licence of a hackney carriage under the Act of 1847 such conditions as the district council may consider reasonably necessary.

(2)Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing subsection, a district council may require any hackney carriage licensed by them under the Act of 1847 to be of such design or appearance or bear such distinguishing marks as shall clearly identify it as a hackney carriage.

(3)Any person aggrieved by any conditions attached to such a licence may appeal to a magistrates’ court.

Hackney carriage drivers licenses are governed by byelaws.

Unless of course you have a dual license - and that does get confusing.

Well done Roy you were listening:-) you should ask for he minutes of the meeting that adopted the act?after all they will have to prove this in a court of law? I doubt the judge will just take there word for it?

Conditions for vehicles, by-laws for drivers.

Indeed it is.

You don't need to except tokens.
