Now we have to have a 28 day plate if we dont have the V5 for a vehicle (i.e. just the "new keeper" section...)

once you get the full V5 you have to pay an extra £15 for the full plate...

who thought that one up?

Someone who has got away with taking the pi** for years, thus just carries on doing so until someone makes a 'Grandad' stand.

I wouldnt mind but guess who could be the first to get stung by this.....

Surely an invoice and the new keeper section, MOT and insurance should be enough?

Plus of course DVLA never ever drag their heels do they, and royal mail never lose post

if the full V5 in the new owners name isnt presented within 28 days the vehicle licence (plate) will not be renewed to a full plate

so from now, suddenly and without warning, unless they are happy to wait for the full V5 to arrive, a new owner of a car will find an extra £15 cost on top of the normal plate fee, is this rise by the back door?

Tis indeed, District....

as far from here as you can get and still be in the jurisdiction

Well I got the V5 back, then I got to thinking......

my paper license and the cars plate both state "till jan 31st"

(so they dont need to print or make anything)

so, as a LA may only charge what things cost, whats the £15 for?....

just the time they spend looking at my new V5?.........

It is drivers badges that they can only charge at cost. Not vehicle licenses.
