I used a similar thing posted on here by Mancityfan to convince the local police that making off without payment was a criminal matter and not a civil matter. They were not happy but they did follow it up and we got our money.

Quote:

no money in his possession but fails
to inform the driver until the journey is
complete, he commits an offence
under Section 2 Fraud Act 2006 –
Obtaining services dishonestly.

Notts Police tried to get away without helping one of our guys a few months ago until I quoted the above.

Perhaps drivers should have such information posted somewhere in their vehicle so that customers can read it for themselves

As you know I am in Plymouth where this notice is from as quoted in PHTM. We have some who put in their cabs for passengers to read, we give a copy to the Police when they eventually stroll up, it does not make a blind bit of difference it is always, and I mean always, A CIVIL MATTER.

Then you need to take their collar number and report them to their senior officer and the Chief constable and then the home secretary. Just keep causing them grief until they understand.

That's is fair enough and a good way to go.

What I did though is all here - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22338 and now if I have dealings with the Police always record it. I have also got a front facing camera now. My problem is not the passengers it is LA and Police non-intervention!
