One of the local firms have started to plate vehicles in Rutland. However the drivers are not badged by Rutland. I was talking to one of them at the school where I pick up my school run, he was also on the school run. He was asked where his rutland badge was and he said that he didn't need one. His boss has told the drivers that because they are on contract work for the County Council they don't need to be badged. Oh, by the way this is the same chap who thought that TUPE didn't apply to him. |

Maybe the CC should "find out" he's using unlicenced drivers? no doubt they don't have a CRB (or whatever the new name is)either. But then with all the volunteer/charity sector cars doing much the same sort of work, I don't suppose they have them either. |

He is moving his vehicles to be licensed by Rutland because they don't have an age policy. We do. He also does not operate from Rutland although he may have a virtual office there. He does not use a Rutland phone number though, He still used the number from our town on the vehicles. |

This is why you can see rutland plated vehicles all over the country. Their vehicle compliance test consists of an MOT certificate that is no more than 7 days old. They may want to look at your vehicle when you first plate it but after that they never see it again. |

It is now 4 weeks since the vehicle that picks up at the same school as me has been plated by Rutland. The vehicle has the company name and a telephone number for our town and not Rutland. The plate has still not been fitted to the vehicle so at the moment it just looks like a taxi from our town that does not have a license. Our Council say they can't do anything even though it is not displaying a plate and as we know, Rutland do not do enforcement. Where can you go with this? |

Get the police involved. If there's no plate fitted, how does anyone know it's a licenced vehicle? |
