On our booking forms we state that we can't be held responsible for missed departures that are beyond our control and advise customers to have their own travel insurance. If they have their own travel insurance they should be able to make a claim. You will still be in for a hard time with them should it happen.

I'm starting to look at airport work in my area, and considering the position I would be in if unfortunately, due to breakdown or delays, a customer missed their flight....

I know, if I break down, call a local firm and pay up to get the passenger on their way.... but what about traffic delays?

should I wrap this up in T&C's and forget about it? Just checked with my insurance and my legal cover wouldn't pay out for anything like this, they said it would be up to the customer to have their own insurance....

We have insurance to cover us when things go wrong, and that includes any claims against our business. The threat of having a claim against us shouldn't concern drivers doing there best and assessing their risks.

Airport runs are the "signature" dish and always advertised as they are the 1 common job between all firms and usually quoted at stupid prices, 8 seaters no extra, night/early jobs no extra, a tonne of luggage no extra

We do quite well from the airport runs although I hate doing airport runs myself, you do what you have to to keep things running. So long as you're organised there shouldn't be a problem.

Can't stand airport runs. I'll turn them down unless they get offerred to me on a quiet monday night when there's nothing else going on. Not a problem as there are loads of drivers who love then.
