Can a Hackney Carriage Vehicle operate his/her meter and charge the customer an amount less than the amount shown on the meter?

Of course they can. The meter is the maximum that can be charged.

Yep its called "self destruction" and its often QUOTED used at Council meetings by Councillors to argue against Cab Drivers requests for Fare increases :lol: :lol:

When I worked for 1 firm, we used to have a term "list nett", basically look up the RRP, work out what nil off left and that was the nett price, mind you we were on commission

I know a firm with a fixed £4 fare when the flag is £3.50 for hacks and the meter doesnt go on, yet the LO knows and does SFA
