Obviously the taking 3 year extension is a no brainer.

Not for me because we still need a DBS and a DVLA check every year so it'll knock the price up to £400.

Thank you for your email dated 12 January 2015 regarding your enquiry. This has been passed to me for reply.

The DBS use a Workforce instead of the Position Applied For when considering the release of non-conviction information about an individual. It will now be based on the type of Workforce and no longer the actual job role.

This change means that DBS Certificates in the Update Service can be taken from role to role within the same Workforce i.e. when moving between jobs that involve working with children or adults or both..

· ‘Child Workforce’ - Use this for any position that involves working/volunteering with children

· ‘Adult Workforce’ - Use this for any position that involves working/volunteering with adults.

· ‘Child and Adult Workforce’ - Use this for any position that involves working/volunteering with children and adults.

· ‘Other Workforce’ - Use this for any position that does not involve working/volunteering with Children or Adults e.g. security guard.

Note: ‘Other Workforce’ must be written if the person is not working with children or adults.
