So as a hardworking driver, my mate has lost an income, lost his car, possible increase in insurance premiums, possibly being sued within 3 years;; whereby this drunken chancer can walk away scot free with a pocketful of compensation.

Were this Driver in a UNION they would be advising HIM on how to deal with this FREE OF CHARGE of course and no doubt considering suing the Drunk for his the Drivers loss of earnings ........................simple really .....................but Cab Drivers brain dead most of emmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Given the Drunk has assets a House car etc hes very vulnerable hammer the pi$$ edd .............his actions caused the Driver a pecuniary loss .......................HAMMER HIM FFS common sense really

Writing on behalf of a mate who is a private hire cab driver. Early Saturday morning he and his two passengers were heading to their destination. Headed to the first roundabout, slowing down from doing 30mph, left at the first exit onto a 50 yard straight road that leads to another roundabout, doing less than 15mph to manoeuvre round to the second exit, checking ahead for potential traffic that may be exiting from the left was suddenly startled by a thud, then another thud that resulted in the windscreen being hit and smashed. It is now apparent that a young male has been , for whatever reason been standing behind overgrown bushes on the roundabout (went back today in daylight, and it would have been impossible to see anybody standing there because of the combination of greenery and the directional chevron signs on top of the hedges) this guy was not seen by driver or passengers and appears to have stepped off the roundabout and collided with the right hand side of the car and thrown into the air. Car was stopped all 3 occupants got out and attended the guy with assistance from the ambulance operator on the phone. The guy on the ground was reeking of drink. Statements were given to the police, all confirming that nothing could have been done to prevent the collision as the guy stepped out of a darkened roundabout straight into the road / car; driver was cleared of being intoxicated or have taken any drugs. He was however told that his car would be impounded and stored as evidence. He now has no vehicle in order to continue his livelihood over a possible busy bank holiday nor can he make plans for the foreseeable future because the police will not put a time frame on the investigation. He may have access to a 'pool' car @£150 per week, but also has to pay the HP on the car he uses as a cab. Not only losing his income for at least this week he has been told that the drunken guy has the option of possible taking the matter to a civil court to sue if he so wishes.
