Hi all,

I currently have a PH licence and was thinking of going alone!

I dont own my own car BUT I know where I can rent a car which is seviced, insured etc.

I also know I would need a Operators Licence.

The question I have is will I need to get my own Public Liability Insurance or will my car insurance have this included in???

I plan on doing this myself next year...

With regards to insurance, you will definately need to be covered for public liabilty for your base, the last thing you need is a prospective customer walking in and then tripping over and filing for a large claim, £5m is about the usual cover for PL and is surprisingly quite cheap I've found.

If you're having your own cars then maybe go for some sort of fleet insurance with public liablity included, bulk buying always saves money.

Just a thought.

Your normal 'run of the mill' PH/taxi insurance should cover that.

One assumes it's the liabilty part that makes our insurance much more expensive than for a normal car.
