Eastbourne charge £255 every three years. Which then begs the question as to why they charge so much more than Brighton who charge about £35 a year (£105 over three years). Manchester-v-King says that councils can only charge the actual cost of processing the license, so why does it cost more than twice as much in one manor, as it does to another near by?

![]() Yes, and that reminds me of Edinburgh charging £700 for a new application. I think many LAs charge the same for either an application or a renewal, and if not then the differential isn't huge, as in York: hackney carriage vehicle licence or private hire vehicle licence (new application) 132.00 hackney carriage vehicle licence or private hire vehicle licence (renewal) 104.00 |
