Our Council have proposed a number of changes some of which are very unpopular note IE colour changes
They appear to appear to ride rough shod over drivers ( Below is part of the letter we received recently )

I understand that you are booked into the Taxi Forum meeting on Tuesday evening

I am aware of some recent scare mongering amongst the trade in relation to the consultation exercise.

I would re-confirm that this is a meeting to give the proposed detail of the changes put forward by the Council so that there is clearer understanding of the issues proposed and reasons why. It is still out for consultation there is nothing set in stone.

It is not proposed to have a full debate on the proposals. You will have the opportunity to respond to the consultation exercise individually or collectively in writing.

Drivers who attend and are disruptive at the meeting will be asked to leave and the matter will be considered in relation to their overall conduct and behaviour towards Council officers carrying out their duties.

If you are aware of any letters, leaflets raising issues about the consultation exercise in an aggressive manner towards the Council or its officers then these should be forwarded to myself so that the appropriate action can be taken .

Please come to the meeting with an open mind and be prepared to listen to the proposals and the reasons.

Now Here's the question does any body have knowledge of consultations how to respond etc
Regards

Let's just hope that enough drivers turn up or at least send their views into the council with regards to the proposals. I doubt it myself, it'll be like everywhere else, kicking up a fuss when it's all done and dusted. We are our own worse enemy sometimes.

The council will do what they want anyway.

Recently in Trafford there was overwhelming support for the retention of a knowledge test for private hire, the taxi and PH trades wanted it, the public consultation wanted it retained and the officers themselves wanted it - the obvious solution to the councillors was to remove it.

Surely not councillors wouldn't make descisions against the public interest but in favour of one of their supporters  allegedly
