Nearly 300 dumps round here. I had a lengthy conversation with our shower of shit last week, they asked me why there wasn't any uptake on the three year badges? I told them to look at the price in Mansfield then look at Ashfield's, there's nearly £150 difference in price.

It says

Combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence 3 yrs

£138.00

So £51 each was a bargain

I would ask what best value they have done and why can Mansfield do it cheaper? Perhaps Mansfield should do the licensing function for them, much better value. Or maybe Melton should do it even cheaper.

The figure of £138 has not yet been implemented. The taxi association objected to the way in which the fees were calculated and the decision was deferred. That was in June. The fees were looked at again following the committee meeting in September and they were passed again last week. So far they have not advertised the new fees in the paper. I have a feeling that they are thinking that because they were advertised earlier in the year that they don't have to advertise them again.
Oh and of course it was £102 EACH.

Under LG(MP)A 1976, s 53(2)[9] the fee for hackney carriage and driving licences simply has to be reasonable and there are no statutory requirements for advertisements.

Which licences have to be advertised?

I'm sure they have to advertise fee increases to be legal wasn't that the basis of the guildford drivers getting their money back ?

In addition, there is no restriction on the number of times that the local authority can increase the fees. However, their actions must be reasonable, in accordance with the Wednesbury principles.
