Our council have sent letters to drivers telling them that our fees have gone up. The increase was advertised in july but due to objections they were only finally passed on November 4th. Surely this means that because they missed the 2 month deadline for implementing after the end of the July "consultation" period they will need to re-advertise the increase. |

This has come up before, I believe if the objections have been considered and rejected, no futher advert is needed as the chance for input has been given. If this were not the case any rise (or fall) would never be achieved (on any matter, not just Taxi & PH licensing), an ongoing string of objections would stymie the Authority. |

Fees come into effect on new date, within two months of original date. |

The notice in the paper must specify a date, not less than 28 days from the date on which the notice is first published, that date has two functions 1. It is the date by which any objections must be lodged 2. It is the date on which the revised fees will come into effect if either A no objections are received B any objections withdrawn It should also state where objections should be addressed and how much hey can be made It would appear that a failure to comply with all these requirements would render fees invalid Kelly vs Liverpool Oh a copy of the notice must be available at council offices for inspection. |

It would seem that they have seen the errors of their ways following an email from our association and the advert will be placed in the local paper. |

They have now erred. |
