If all uber driver had to prove they are registered self employed and paying tax this might slow down the numbers of drivers joining. And also if you had to prove to your local council that your registered self employed before they give you a taxi badge and give your national insurance number . This would help stop people under cutting fares because they can do the job cheaper because they are getting away with paying no tax or national insurance. ALL DRIVERS SHOULD HAVE TO PROVE THAT THEY ARE REGISTERED SELF EMPLOYED BEFORE THE COUNCIL GIVE THEN A TAXI BADGE THIS WAY AT LEAST THEY ARE KNOWN TO THE TAX OFFICE. Merry christmas to all the drivers trying to make an honest living.

Why do you signal out UBER drivers? The vast majority of drivers who now affiliate to UBER were previously, and in many cases still are, affiliated to other bases. I doubt that there are many out there who have got their badge just to work for UBER.

As far as I understand they don't have a badge. As they would have to a knowledge test before they could get a badge in my area

I didn't put the post on here about licensing uber drive like I said I didn't know they needed a badge didn't once pretend to be an expert on uber. The point I was making was All drivers uber. Ph. Hackney should prove there self employed before they are giving a badge or a letter to say there on the company's books

So why title the thread "Uber tax" if you are asking why obtaining a badge should require proof of S/E?

Having a badge is no proof of taxi driving is it....simply the possibility they may
