Yorkshire have now introduced a single taxi and policing policy for the whole of Yorkshire

If they came to work here and stuck by the rules ie working for their base and while they did that strived to learn as much as they could so that they could pass the Derby test, then no problem and I do know some who are doing exactly that and good luck to them.
BUT.And it is a big but. A lot of them don't care they have a badge and a Hackney vehicle and they seem to think they can work anywhere and park anywhere even on Derby Hackney ranks when they see no Derby cabs there.
Many of them on a Friday and Saturday night take their door magnets off stick there roof sign back on and start working as hackneys in Derby city centre and this practice is totally illegal but they just don't care even when approached and this is where taxi licensing (not just in this borough, all areas ) needs to be given more power to combat this major problem in all towns and cities up and down the country.
