I have the hackney plate renewal notice/letter here for my Superb, on it it states insurance certificates+schedules must include the wording "Providing such use complies with the laws and regulations of the appropriate licensing Authority" Neither my certificate nor schedule include this wording, i am insured by the Taxi centre (Milestone t/as), probably the biggest taxi insurer in the UK, I have also checked my policy summary, to no avail, the wording is not in that either. I think they sneaked this in on the quiet |

Lets stop and think about that So the INSURERS (not brokers) are going to alter and amend every policy as and when every LA wants a different wording or implements a different reg? |

you need to realise the consequences of having that clause inserted in your insurance documents. It means if you commit any trivial offence you would not be insured, which means that the trivial offence escalates into a major offence. It is designed purely to give licencing officers a tool to prosecute at a much higher level than the offence deserves. If I was you I would be asking when this clause to the licencing conditions was brought in and if it has been passed by the licencing committee. If not passed then it is not enforceable. |
