So where do councils stand on what information they can put on drivers ID badges? My local council insist on putting the drivers full name on the badge now, where's before they didn't. As long as the driver can be identified by their licence number on the badge, why should the council put the drivers name on it. Its obviously a potential risk that we can be identified by name, particularly at night. Where do councils legally stand? Does anyone know? Thanks |

If your council insist on such stupidity I would make a formal complaint to the Information Commissioner. https://ico.org.uk/concerns/handling/ In my view there is no need for names to be put on a badge. |

Full name is on a London PCO ID badge, but you can apply for an exemption for wearing it. |

so, the overall picture is... no continuity, no conformity either on details or size of the badge about normal for this trade |
