Did anyone see it? There was quite a splurge about 'illegal minicabs' in London - a reconstruction of an obviously orchestrated rape, and a piece about the dangers more generally and what the police are doing about it. As usual there seemed to be one or two things that were a bit misleading -the voiceover said something like: "You can only hail black taxis, but also licensed hackney carriages in other parts of the country".

I'm sure you would have been interested in the piece about the situation generally - it looked as if the police were doing it all, whereas of course your view is that they're just scratching the surface. The also did an experiment where they just parked a private car up and did nothing, and several people came up and asked if they were for hire - it was the public doing the touting, not the driver. |
