Post subject:  Medical Problem
Just received my renewal form with a requirement to have a medical for my Private Hire Licence, which has to be returned by September 30th.Went to my Doctor was given an appointment for 2nd of September, sorry I cant make that I said, well said the receptionist thats all we have try somewhere else, The Council insist it has to be from your own Doctor so where do I go from Here?.

One stood in for them that day, what they most likely mean is from your practice

We have this all the time. The only available appointment is when the drivers are on their school runs. We speak to the practice manager and point out that we are paying for this service and we have always managed to get a more suitable appointment.

Get a print out of your medical records and then you can use a Doctor from another practice to do the medical as he has access to your medical records,I was unable to get a medical from my own doctors as they who do the medicals were all on maternity leave,practice manager gave me my records and I phoned around asking if they could do a group 2 medical,2nd call can do the following Saturday,fee is £60,thus by having to source a medical from elsewhere I saved myself £60 less a couple of quid the expense of getting there.

My Council say it has to be your own doctor but cover their backs by saying doctor must have access to your medical records which they obviously do if you supply a print out.

Email the surgery pointing out your problems.

If there is a more obnoxious set of people on this planet than doctor receptionists, then I have yet to meet them. :sad:

My Mrs is a doctors receptionist :wink:
