I know that some LAs have different rules for vehicles that licensed as PH but are deemed to be chauffeur drive or whatever - for example, they do not have to display external plates.

So they must employ a definition of some kind.

I suspect it's a bit like the elephant test - easy to know when you see it, but difficult to describe :D

im a chauffeur

and i dont hold any plates of any kind,
im employed to drive cllrs and officals anywhere.
mostly in and around aberdeen/aberdeenshire/all of scotland only thing i need is a map and a time to be there at. :D

Thanks for your input Mr sgtpoe, but I think the differance is the chauffeur service you work for is not available to the public, & therefore does not require licensing

P.S. I bet you have some stories to tell with all the gossip you hear ? :roll:
