This fella does a blog on the 'naked capitalist' in the US, and has done an in-depth and fascinating look at the Uber business model, and concludes that Uber will only ever make money for it's investors is if it became 'an unregulated monopoly'.

The blog is in five parts, but well worth a read.

Can Uber Ever Deliver? Part One – Understanding Uber’s Bleak Operating Economics

Can Uber Ever Deliver? Part Two: Understanding Uber’s Uncompetitive Costs

Can Uber Ever Deliver? Part Three: Understanding False Claims About Uber’s Innovation and Competitive Advantages

Can Uber Ever Deliver? Part Four: Understanding That Unregulated Monopoly Was Always Uber’s Central Objective

Can Uber Ever Deliver? Part Five: Addressing Reader Comments and Questions

They are nearly that already in London and trying to be in the Provinces due to the lack of enforcement in making them abide by the same regulations as everyone else.
Must have spent a fortune on brown envelopes.

Having read those blogs I'm more certain than ever that Uber will not succeed.

In time they will ask the investors to cough up, and then questions will be asked.

And hopefully the house of cards will tumble down.

Uber isn't about taxis.

We are just a cog to get into Joe Public's personal data.

How many other shops said 'we must stop Amazon' when they were destroying independent book shops?
