If uber have no office in a town or city and bring outside licensed cars in How do they subcontract the work to those cars ?

Firstly the issue is should any office outside any given LA refuse or accept bookings from another LA?

Of course they will, if it works for the cars.

Even i the days of just landlines+radios I worked shifts totally in another LA...I was hack plated, didnt do flags, just bookings passed by the base....

If both areas are in the same STD code area it was even simpler

NOW, with mobile phones, smartphones/internet how do you stop the cars working across boarders?

They don't subcontract.

They redirect the booking to the office in the area to which the driver is licensed.

Not even sure that is correct,led to believe that it goes direct to driver app. without going through a server at the so called licensed premises.

Whoever accepts, driver or operator, the booking once accepted goes to the office in the area to which the driver is licensed.

The server could be in in Russia or Bali.... so that arguement is dead before it starts

The server location isn't an issue, it's who accepts the job first.

If it's the operator, then everything is ticker tee boo.

However if the driver accepts first, then Uber have a big problem.

Job request/booking always has to go to server first though

Are you trying to say that the server now needs an operating license?

quite the opposite. its impossible to license an internet signal

I take work from an office in Pakistan, Friday i took a 5 mile job for £30, i had the meter on, it showed £15

I broke no rules as the customer didnt pay me, they paid the base by card, our regs state i may not request more than the meter fare but i requested nothing....

This is an interesting take on the situation.
How many of us think that Wannabee is correct that he didn't request the payment but a "booking office" requested and got the payment so everthing is in order.
Personally, I am not sure.
