Was it a fixed camera site or a mobile van ? I'm pretty certain that all fixed camera sites have to have the extra white lines painted on the road as a back up to the camera itself. ( they can work out your speed from how many lines you have passed, which is why there are two pictures taken) I'm pretty certain the only way you can ask to see the picture is if you plead not guilty, which by the look of it, you are.

It depends on the type of camera. The ones that take the picture of you as you approach the camera only flash once and the road markings are different. You can ask for the photos before you make a plea.

Ask to see the evidence.

If you have evidence to show that you weren't doing that speed then plead not guilty and put it before the court.

camera vans can clock you a long way back I got caught out a couple of years ago i checked and adjusted my speed as soon as I saw it (about 150 yards away) but I still got a penalty notice although I was offered the speed awareness course

Looking at your speed and then your camera speed I'm guessing it was the yellow magpies on the blue poles. My GPS Camera freezes at 27MPH for some strange reason when I go past them.

They're average speed cameras aren't they ?
If so might have only been doing 27 at that point but an average between cameras of the 38mph caught for.

When I go through the cameras on the poles it freezes my camera at 27mph.

Not sure you are correct. He received the initial NIP on 8th March. That is the one where you either admit you were the driver or nominate someone else. You sent that back and if you admit you were the driver you then get the fixed penalty or the speed awareness course. It was the letter he received on 8th March that had to be within the 14 days of the offense.

If you didn't commit the offence plead not guilty.

I would accept it you usually get offered a choice of dates and times and you do learn something. They are usually interactive so not too boring and most importantly of all NIL POINTS
