Leter comes out about meter useage.

"Hackneys on prebooked jobs are using company price lists not the meter, if a price is agreed beforehand you must still use the meter AND CHARGE THE LOWER FARE"

I think they mean "Charge no more than the meter fare"

no if you quote a job at less than meter you must stick to that price unless meter would be less the La wording is correct

but is it the LA's part to tell us that? surely they should limit themselves to the meter issue (use it and charge no more) and agreed fixed fare is a verbal contract?

If the meter is not engaged, how does the driver or customer know if the fare would be lower on the meter?

Meter to be used, no more than meter to be requested or demanded

In that case I don't think your LA can state that - the agreement is between the driver and passenger - the PH operator isn't mentioned
