It wasn't my contract. County hall school contracts are not signed.
I was told today that the same person who had this contract has another contract to another special school and he apparently takes all the kids to mcdonalds for breakfast every Friday. Dodgy or what.

last one was £20K a year for 4 hours a day term-time only, and im a mug?

had 1 for 4 years £600/week too

LCC keep sending me tenders and ive been off the framework 2 years, ours require a signature but ive just had 2 come through with our old address on, weve been moved 18 months and had our new address on contracts since then, i really do wonder how they get, or keep, thier jobs...

I am led to believe this is standard practice in all L/As. Home to School transport contracts.


the trick is to only upset them when they dont owe you anything...because i doubt they could chase it through the courts but (if quick enough) they might take it out of payments due.

we have a "4 week hand back" clause but i gave 3 weeks before a half term...

your wrong...

Its not a fine as such, its a CHARGE, it should be laid out in the formal terms of the contact that you "the contractor" if relieved of your route due to non-compliance are liable to meet the councils costs in covering that route for a fixed period.

If you dont like the terms of the deal...........dont deal

as I said, they probably wouldnt chase it through the courts but would grab any payments due to the offending contractor

Not if you Union is Unite who advise of school contract disputes “This a contractoral matter and not one of employment.. You’re on your own”

Mind you reading this case it would seem that the driver is being hit by his employer who signed the contract and said it was cleared.
