they HAVE to ask everyone on it for permission to pass the info on

yesterday i received an email from a charitable organisation i am a member of (about 800 members) telling me that unless I submit a new form with the requested data and sign it within 4 weeks to give consent my membership will be cancelled

There are no exemptions taxi businesses even sole traders are liable but a simple action plan to say you are doing something about it and a document detailing your plans to keep data secure should suffice we may not have to ask permission to write someones address down BUT we still are liable for the security of the data it seems.

That is the problem because if you get caught out and it is found that you ignored GDPR that's when the hefty fines start
