Executive Hire Vehicles should have the following features as a minimum in order to be
considered for licensing, this list is not exhaustive:-
 High quality vehicle in terms of brand and condition, with no visible defects, dents
or blemishes to the external bodywork or trim
 Luxury or prestige vehicle
 Engine size of 2000cc or greater
 Automatic transmission
 Original list price of the vehicle is in excess of £40,000, despite its age at the
time of the licence application. Evidence of the original list value will be required
upon application and officers must be satisfied the evidence provided supports
and verifies the original list value

So what precisely is the benefit of the Exective designation, then?

I'm guessing non-display of plates and/or exemption from age rule.

I'm with you on this passengers often book their returns whilst on the outward journey via the driver

Or they change a booking with a driver, or ask the driver to book another car as there are two many passengers to travel in the one car.

It would seem that all passengers are going to have to attend a training course on how to book a vehicle before they can make a booking. i hope they will be issued with a certificate with a number on it so that we can prove that they have been on the course.

The interesting one is

"all PH and HC vehicles must be Euro 6 by April 1st 2020"

so will they refuse to plate euro 5 (or older) after 31st march 2019?

Euro 6 became statutory on September 2015 (or 65 plates onward)

so any car on a 15 plate or older looks like being refused

Are the trade making any representations regarding the policy?

This is another Council that the TAXI trade has allowed themselves to be governed by conditions on a TAXI drivers license, there is not a combined drivers badge in any Act,drivers licenses are issued under different parts of the Acts.
Get organised and join the NTA.

The Council may directly access the DVLA records of applicants, or alternatively will
employ the services of a third party to do this.

In addition, a third party service may be used to assess the suitability of applicants based
on their general behaviour whilst using the internet (in particular social media sites).
