So what was the point of the London PH Act, and why is it only you that think standards will not improve? :?

I guess Claude is being shy and not using a handle.

I once had a hack of mine shunted in the side by a black cab.

Involved police and ambulance the lot.

Couldn't get the black cab's insurer Tradex to answer for 7 months and when they did they had 5 'independent' witnesses, all black cab drivers, who cllaimed it was my drivers fault.

Funny thing is not one of the other people at the scene, police, third parties or our passengers remember another black cab of any sort stopping to offer their details to either driver or the Police, who attended instantly because they were in the street at time.

Amazing how it happened really.

This signage decision is another huge feather in the cap for Steve Wright and the LPHCA.

He said three years ago that the PH industry in London didn't want plates on the rear of the vehicles but only tax disc style plates in the window of the car. I poo pooed his idea, and Terry Ellis of the PCO publicly stated a rear plate was the bare minimum.

Have to say Steve has won. This follows quickly on the heels of his getting temporary licences issued.

It just shows what can happen if the PH industry get together, put there hand in their pockets and pay for lobbyists. Strikes me the PH trade is holding equal sway over Red Ken as Mr Rice et al do for the Hacks.

you are saying immidiately that they are safer than taxis, i AM SAYING THEY WILL NOT.

The issue of future safety has not been debated until now.

You said that a London PH will be the same as a mini-cab, I disagree.

The rest I can't work out. :?
