I told him it wasn't. Slightly misleading, but that's the way things happen in the cab trade. If you want to believe something, and enough people repeat it, then to most drivers sitting in their taxi/PH it must be true. |

I don't see anything in the act that says that a vehicle must return empty to it's licensing area. |

But there is BYLAWS governing Hackney Carriages which state you must return to a TAXI RANK, and you can only ply for hire in your licensing district. And that raises the question do bylaws apply outside of your area? If not, and that's the general rule, then if you are outside your area your local bylaws don't apply. So even if you had that bylaw it's unenforceable outside of you area. |
