If your LA had a 6 month compliance test (as many do) and you hadnt put in a pass by 2 weeks overdue, would you expect to lose your plate?

Maybe get a warning, or taken off the road, but not revocation unless you were a repeat offender.

Would the license not be suspended and you would have to pass the vehicle test within 28 days or license would be automatically revoked.

vehicle FAILED its test, not yet repaired, could be another 2 weeks

Is it still "Hypothetical"?

LA Taxi and PH Policy should be consulted.

Appeal to Taxi Licensing Committee if necessary. They can depart from Policy if they choose.

Cheshire West and Chester will allow our six monthly MOT/check (for vehicles over five years old) to run out and as long as you don’t work with the vehicle. They will allow you to have it tested anytime up to the renewal date. However, if your actual plate/license runs out, that’s it, the license is gone and to license another vehicle it has to be a new one.
