Why not just post the certificate through the door as requested instead of being an awkward git and making something out of nothing.

the whole point of the DBS coupled with updates was instant checking

theyve seen it once - "theres no new info" but they want to SEE every DBS certificate every 6 months?

why should i have to drive into town to post it through the letterbox and hope they (or the post) dont lose it?

Why didn't the update update?

Or did the council not do their bit?

Update service is perfect

the council want to SEE/FEEL my DBS certificate - same one they saw in 2015 which remain unchanged

the update clearly states online "no new information"

This my point

Every 6 months our Council ask us to provide details to check both the DBS update and also our driving licenses. The reason given for having to ask is that they are not permitted to keep the data anymore. They can't take a copy of your DBS and keep it in file anymore.
Now for me, I have put my details on a file for the DBS because those details don't change and leave a line for the driving license check code. It takes me a couple of minutes to generate the code and add it to my file and then send the lot by email to the Council.
However, we do also have a couple of drivers here who moan about it every time and will spend a couple of hours moaning to the council over something that would take a couple of minutes.

as the update relates to ONLY the original certificate I agree, they only need the SAME details used last time

They are reading "must check DBS 6 monthly" as "must see the certificate in person"

They want EVERY driver (every 6 months) to deliver thier DBS certificate through the LA letter box and return it by Royal Mail

Perhaps the council are being thorough and want to see certificate to verify the update service, For the update service to remain valid, the original dbs certificate that the update service is linked to has to be available to be seen, if a driver has lost that certificate, the update service becomes invalid and a new DBS check is required.
Every 6 months? our LA are still in the dark ages and only require a check on update service every 3 years, and those that are not on the update service have to do a new DBS check every 3 years.

Define "check"

We provide the details for them to check that there have been no changes to our DBS and also that there have been no points added to the drivers license that have not been declared.

exactly my point and THE point of a DBS with updates

Ours interpret "check" as..........."must see and touch"

She had it on the 4th, checked it on the 6th and its still on her desk

So i had to drive into town and back to put it through the letterbox and ive gotta drive in/out again to collect it
