What days are your council allowing you to charge extra?
Our Council have said that because the Jubilee bank holidays are not on the tariff card then the drivers can only charge normal fare.
Do you agree with this?

I had always thought you were private hire.

Does it give a date for every Bank Holiday on the tariff card?

Most just put "Bank or Public Holiday".

Calendar controlled meters may not include, so that clever bugger (me) in Plymouth got this on the Tariff:

In the event of extra Public Holidays being announced within the life of this tariff, the tariff stands with an additional charge to be added to the meter for each hiring on the new Public Holiday.

Currently the charge is 50p.

I got this added because it is increasingly likely that there will be a Royal Funeral (Public Holiday no doubt) and a Coronation (Public Holiday no doubt).

You should all get something on your Tariff Cards, to re-Tariff a meter to make it "See" a new Bank Holiday will cost more than the extra Fares charged.

We have just had our meter rates changed, so I'm assuming the extra days are already programmed in.

If so it's £1 a job.

That may well apply to hackneys, but you can charge what you like extra.

We don't. The Council have decided that both the days can be charged at bank holiday prices.
