I received this email on Saturday evening.

Good evening.
Hope you are doing well.
I am private hire driver with wolverhampton license.
living in leicester.
would like work in melton mowbray area if you got job i maybe start with you but i need to know how you charge rent?
weekly or monthly?
By the way of % ?
Please let me know if possible.
note: some days i work with UBER in melton+ oakham area.

I said I can only pass work to an operator and not a driver. His operator is UBER.

I worder if any operators actually just pass work directly to drivers and not operators?

I would think this happens with out of town hackney carriages but perhaps the new HMRC reporting system will put a stop to that.

I believe that it is ok to sub to any hackney driver but not a PH driver.

I believe the Hackney Carriage has to be in its own licensing district Com Cab court case.

If they share the same license I suspect it's 10s of 1000s of times a day.

And I disagree with that.

I was thinking more on the lines of the Wolverhampton licensed drivers who work in other areas and don't share the same license.

I suspect it might not be 10s of 1000s a day, more single 1000s a day.

Until we get someone to check these bookings properly, it won't stop.
