so here we go....

I had a medical October 22 2022

Badge application was November 4th 2022

Badge issued December 3rd 2022

Expiry October 21st 2023 ..........because medical expires that day...

Option 1...

have a medical before October 21st and they extend current licence to December 3rd

Then have ANOTHER medical prior to Dec 3rd and have a badge to THAT medical expiry date....

Option 2....

Renew badge for the October 21st date with medical before that date, new badge to run till THAT medical expires.....

All whilst remembering renewals can take 4 weeks.....

This is becausee South staffs have a 1 year badge for over 60's with a 1 year medical

And all this is handled for SSDC by Wolverhanpton....

South Staffs cannot refuse to issue a three year badge to anyone, over sixty or not.( can they?)

So theres NO way an over 65 can ever get a 1 year licence......10 months at most when application delays are taken int account, unless MAYBE I have a medical and apply the same day and even then not

Quote:
Dear Sir,

Further to our conversation and your emails, the medical requirement is that after the age of 65 a new medical must be produced every year that is the reason why your licence is issued to October so it runs in line with your medical.

If you provide me with a new medical certificate 1 week before your licence is due to expire, I can look to extend the licence.

Thank you
Regards,
Amit Kumar

Licensing Officer
City of Wolverhampton Council
