Our Council have a policy that states that any company that runs 5 or more vehicles must have a WAV. This is for both Hackney and Private Hire Companies.
I know some Councils have a 100%wav policy for Hackney Carriage but do any have a policy for Private Hire?
This type of work in our town is carried out by the community transport people. for example, for us to take a passenger to Leicester Royal Infirmary, wait for an hour and then bring them back would costy around £100.00 but the Community Transport people do this for £27.00 return.

I seem to remember something about it in the old DfT Best Policy, but it wasn't regulatory.

The new Policy may be different, not gone through it depth.

B&H has a policy, that applies to all operators with over 100 cars on their fleet, that 20% of their fleet should be WAVs.

Now there is current pressure to reduce that %, for a number of reasons, and TBH I think those reasons are 100% valid.
