Calderdale Council are advertising 2 posts as transport assistants tonight
part of the job description includes "Willing to undertake driving or passenger assistant duties as and when required"

the post requires a criminal reccord check (disclosure)

This very same council insists that the equivelent posts in the private sector (including Taxis) needs a criminal reccord check (enhansed disclosure)

how the hell can they be so hypocritical?

I will ask and let you know!

I suspect it's because they want the jobs filled quickly, and don't want them to wait months for a full disclosure.

Funny thing is, if they want them to work with the HC/PH trade, you would have thought an enhanced check was a must.

I mean that's what the legislation says about working with kids.
