Interesting stats from TfL. Successful candidates well down over the years, but it takes them far less time to meet the standards. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparen ... -2683-2526 |

Brutal numbers - I didn't think they were down as much as that. I mean, almost 900 completing KoL around a decade ago, and probably around just 100 last year and this (once this year is complete) Sussex wrote: Successful candidates well down over the years, but it takes them far less time to meet the standards. Can't really see any obvious trend in that regard (excepting the obvious lockdown effect extending times). Except for those completing it this year, which is at least one year shorter than the long-term trend. |

And, in fact, maybe the lockdown affect isn't as significant as it looked at first glance - the 2019 figure is just under five years, and the worst figure during lockdown is just over five years. So maybe something has happened in terms of the test that means it's a good bit easier to pass now, in terms of timespan at least. (I've lost track of all these changes they've made over the years, and of course any change will take several years to show in the figures for those passing.) But the figures overall are surprising - I wouldn't have guessed that the average time taken for those passing in 2019 was over five years. If that's the average then presumably quite a few might have been taking six or seven years maybe, rather than being outliers
