On a different topic today, one poster was mentioning how little information had come his way, re the OFT Study.

I expect that not only do most of the UK's licensed drivers not know about OFT, but I suspect they get virtually no info from their respective councils full stop about anything.

However not a million miles from me, Hastings council have at least made an effort to address this situation. They up date drivers via their own website on;
http://www.hastings.gov.uk/taxis/taxi_news_issue9.asp

Now this info means nothing to most of us, but to the lads and lasses in Hastings at least it's a start, but wouldn't it be nice if more councils followed their lead?

Yes, it doesn't say much, but at least it's better than nothing.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the trade in Hastings are still unawares.

The thing is, how long would it take a council official to do something like that? A couple of hours a month at most.

So why don't the rest do something similar, or is it a case of they haven't a clue what's happening themselves.

More than likely. :(

I never hear a thing from my council.
Other than a letter for my drivers license fee and a letter for my taxi license fee.

We don't even get that, if you don't renew it then it's your fault.

We do get a letter about the test date though, but they have to, because there's no way we'd know otherwise!
